Synopsis
Gabriel Ferrater was a poet, linguist, translator, and editor, but he never attended school. He grew up immersed in libraries, which helped shape his independent spirit. Still in his teens, the Spanish Civil War caused a general moral collapse and he and his family were forced to flee, an experience that would profoundly influence all his subsequent work due to the fear and uncertainty they endured during those tumultuous years.
